The Wyre Forest Talking Newspaper (WFTN) is a registered charity.
WFTN provides a weekly reading of local newspapers for blind and partially sighted people in the Wyre Forest area of North Worcestershire.
It is a free service run entirely by volunteers and is available to anyone who has difficulty reading or holding a newspaper.
It is distributed to listeners on a memory stick that plays on the provided player or may be plugged into the listener’s own player.
The recording features local news & sport from the Kidderminster Shuttle and other sources.
If you would like to listen to our Talking Newspaper on your phone or smart device, you can download an App from the British Wireless for the Blind Fund – once installed, you can find us under “West Midlands” as “Wyre Forest Talking Newspaper“.
You can also listen to the latest Newspaper on your web browser.
WFTN also produces a magazine recording three times a year with articles from various local and national magazines, and a seasonal edition at Christmas.
You can also listen to the Quarterly Magazine on your browser.
If you have an Alexa device, you can listen to our Newspaper and Magazine using the “Talking Newspaper” Skill. Simply say “Alexa – Open Talking Newspaper” to open the Skill, once she has responded with “Welcome to your Talking Newspaper Skill. Please say the name of a Newspaper, or a Town or City you would like to hear from.”, just say “Wyre Forest Talking Newspaper“, or “Wyre Forest Talking Magazine” to listen to the latest news or magazine.
